El Centro de la Raza is once again honored to be a United Way Free Tax Prep Campaign site and will provide free bilingual tax preparation services to those in need, including low-income families, beginning January 15 – April 15, 2010.
Free Tax Prep services will be provided at El Centro de la Raza (2524 16th Ave S, Seattle, WA 98144) beginning January 15th on Tuesdays and Thursdays 5-9 PM and Saturdays 10 AM – 2 PM.
Each year United Way of King County’s Free Tax Preparation program relies on the services of over 500 volunteers just like you to help working families keep more of what they earn. Volunteers are THE essential component of the free tax preparation program: last year volunteers prepared 13,631 tax returns, helping return $17.3 million in federal refunds to the community.
All new volunteers receive two days of training and are IRS certified, so no tax experience is necessary. Volunteers complete one 4 hour shift per week at one of our 16 tax sites during tax season (January 12 to April 15). Training sessions will be offered on weekends throughout December and January.
